Tarkett Introduces Style’s Life at BDNY
New Soft Surface Collection Captures a Life of Travel and Offers Endless Creative Possibilities

Tarkett, a worldwide leader in innovative and sustainable flooring and sports surface solutions, launches Desso’s latest collection for hospitality with Style’s Life, a soft surface collection designed by Amanda Gala and Lisa Herreth.
Designs for Style’s Life are based on objects assembled and reimagined like a painter’s canvas. These still lifes portray a traveler’s journey, representing a visual memoir of the experiences that have shaped and guided them.
With Style’s Life, the designers sought to direct, instruct and manipulate, working more as painters than photographers, they assembled still lifes from the objects found during travel, items that tell the story of a life that has wandered, explored and discovered.
The collection demonstrates individuality through the lens of where they’ve been and what they’ve seen. It is a carefully curated assortment, showcasing only the souvenirs that are worthy of permanent display on a shelf or dresser.
Designer Lisa Herreth spoke of the collection, saying, “Style’s Life is about the journey: Who is travelling, What you find and Where you go. Discovering places, people and objects through our lenses and our senses. It is an artistic display of these treasures that encompasses the way we travel, incorporating mapping patterns, topography and flight paths, mixed with the souvenirs that we find on our travels, the ones that we place on our shelves to keep the memories real. These still lifes portray our style: our Style’s Life.”
Designs from the collection are available in each of the below product platforms; any of the designs can be converted to any of these constructions, so the possibilities are endless.
- Axminster broadloom and tiles
- Injection Dyed broadloom and tiles
- Colorpoint
- Handtufted
- Infinity
The collection works in a variety of hospitality environments for luxury hotels & resorts, casinos, mid-scale & economy lodging properties, to aid in crafting interiors that reflect authentic, intrinsic character. Examples of where our soft surface is used includes lobbies, corridors, suites, guestrooms, casino gaming floors, ballrooms, meeting rooms, convention halls, spas, and back of house environments.

Tarkett Introduces Blume at BDNY
Vintage-inspired florals burst from a deep moody blue background setting the backdrop for this dramatic collection called Blume. Blush and crimson are blended with cream to create an ethereal hint of a flower without the stigma of being old fashioned and will add a fresh pop to stark modern spaces.
Brought to life on our Vivid tufting technology, a 12 color cut and loop CYP machine, we were able to add depth with loop creating the feel of a hand-carved carpet.
“Blume developed as a response to the overwhelming appearance of florals in fashion. We wanted to create that for the floor but not in a way that looked overdone. By blurring the forms, it is less literal and more about the shapes rather than trying to be realistic. “ Amy Jaekel, Creative Director, Tarkett.
