Tangram Interiors Represented on Project Teams of Three Southern California Honorees for Architectural Excellence

Tangram Interiors, a curator of highly creative commercial interior environments and workspaces, was a key member of the team on three major projects that garnered top honors during two recent architectural awards ceremonies in Southern California. The recognitions were presented by the Los Angeles Business Council (LABC) and the Orange County chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIAOC).

The three projects included:

LABC

UCLA Anderson School of Management Marion Anderson Hall
Architect: Gensler
Category: Interiors

The new Marion Anderson Hall is a four-story, 60,000-sq.-ft. building dedicated to classrooms, workspaces and event spaces. Tangram helped deliver the desired aesthetic for each floor by furnishing the beautiful, airy building with equally beautiful furniture in a clean and neutral color palate. The goal was to make the space feel attractive and inviting while remaining highly functional for the heavily trafficked areas. Tangram provided a mix of primarily Steelcase, Coalesse and Viccarbe products.

AIAOC

California State University, San Bernardino
Center for Global Innovation
Architect: LPA
Category: Citation Award

The Center for Global Innovation is a LEED Platinum, 70,000-sq.-ft., three-story building that houses administrative offices, 24 collaborative classrooms, reconfigurable multi-purpose rooms, casual study lounges, a 250-seat auditorium and retail food services in a dramatic setting with mountain views. Tangram provided contract furniture and installation services for workstations, private offices, conference rooms, a boardroom, classrooms and collaborative areas as well as for outdoor dining areas and patios.

LPA Irvine Studio
Architect: LPA
Category: Commercial Interiors

The corporate headquarters in Irvine, California, is intended as a living laboratory for modern office design and the firm’s informed, research-based design process. The three-story, 55,450-sq.-ft. office meets LEED-CI v4 Platinum certification standards, while supporting collaboration, creativity and employee comfort with meeting spaces, respite zones and huddle rooms organized around a centralized atrium. Tangram provided Steelcase Answer systems and ancillary furniture for the social, working and collaborating spaces including conference rooms, huddle rooms, collabs and quiet spaces.

Among the factors for bestowing these honors were considerations such as integration, community, ecology, water, economy, energy, wellness, resources, change, discovery, the nexus between social issues and physical infrastructure, and sustainable building practices
