Tangram Donates Innovative Ergonomic Workplace Chair to 39 Finalists in EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards in Los Angeles and Orange County

Tangram Interiors Director of Business Development Adam Simmons helps deliver ergonomic Steelcase office chairs to finalists in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year awards competition.
The Steelcase Gesture chair is the result of a global posture study spanning six continents and more than 2,000 participants.

Tangram Interiors, a provider of highly creative commercial interior environments and workspaces, has been an active sponsor of Ernst & Young’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year awards in both the Greater Los Angeles region and Orange County. This year, the company is donating high-end, ergonomic Steelcase office chairs to each of the 39 finalists in the two areas. Tangram is a Steelcase Premier Partner, one of only 35 in the United States and Canada.

The Steelcase Gesture chair incorporates a number of features designed to optimally support and accommodate a wide range of technologies, postures and sizes. According to Steelcase, it is “Inspired by the human body, designed for the way we work today.”

To better understand the body at work, Steelcase conducted a global posture study spanning six continents and more than 2,000 participants. They discovered that changes in technology and behavior have led to new, unhealthy postures that are not adequately supported by the majority of seating solutions. While technology boosts productivity, it can also cause discomfort that disrupts work, the ability to concentrate and creativity.

The Gesture chair is designed to support healthy postures; varying user sizes and body types; a wide range of head motion; adaptability to height-adjustable tables, benching systems and workstations; and the use of technologies from large monitors to mobile devices.

EY’s Entrepreneur Of The Year is one of the world’s most prestigious business awards programs for entrepreneurs, chosen by an independent panel of judges including entrepreneurs and prominent leaders from business, finance and the local community. The program encourages entrepreneurial activity and recognizes the contribution of people who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement in more than 145 cities in more than 60 countries.

“We are proud to support the EY awards with its recognition of some of the most innovative and successful business leaders who are building strong companies and transforming their industries,” said Tangram President and CEO Joe Lozowski. “In addition to our sponsorship role for the program, this year we wanted to also provide something that embodies what we do and contributes to their wellbeing.”
