Collaboration with a local North Carolina company introduces next-generation material solutions in Studio TK’s Product Portfolio

Studio TK has selected Plantd—a North Carolina-based company reimagining perennial grass into high-performance products—as a material supplier to continue evolving its approach to responsible commercial design. The collaboration reflects Studio TK’s commitment to mindful material innovation, design-forward thinking, and environmental awareness, and its alignment with regional North Carolina suppliers reinforces a more locally grounded and sustainable production ecosystem.

Clique Luxe, designed by Mario Ruiz for Studio TK, is the first introduction of Plantd’s structural panels into the brand’s product portfolio. This integration builds on Clique Luxe’s refined, step-up expression of the original Clique Bench collection, featuring elevated cushioning and tailored tufting details that add texture and softness, creating a more supportive and inviting sitting experience.

As workplace environments continue to shift toward more fluid, social, and experience-driven spaces, Studio TK remains focused on adaptable solutions that perform across a range of settings while maintaining a clear and cohesive design language. Clique Luxe builds on the Clique Bench series as an expressive extension of the system, broadening its application across workplace and social settings from collaborative zones to hospitality-inspired lounges, designed to move seamlessly across functions and now further supported by Plantd’s engineered panels.

“Working alongside Studio TK reflects something we care deeply about at Plantd: bringing great design and better materials together. Clique Luxe is a strong example of what’s possible when high-performance structural materials are used in design-forward applications. We’re excited to bring new material possibilities to the furniture industry,” said Nathan Silvernail, CEO and co-founder of Plantd.

“Working with Plantd as a local North Carolina supplier gives us the ability to rethink what’s possible at the material level while staying grounded in real-world application,” said Koorosh Sharghi, President of Studio TK. “It’s through these types of strategic collaborations that we can continue to equip designers with furniture solutions that balance performance, design integrity, and environmental awareness.”

The integration of Plantd’s renewable panels in the Clique bench collection underscores Studio TK’s interest in materials that expand what commercial furniture can achieve, both structurally and environmentally. This collaboration bolsters Studio TK’s commitment to responsible sourcing while reflecting its ongoing work with regional suppliers and contractors who contribute to a more sustainable and locally grounded supply network.
