Steinberg Hart Los Angeles Opens the Doors to its New Home

The Los Angeles office of Steinberg Hart, an award-winning full-service architecture firm, announces the completion of its new studio, located at 818 W 7th Street in downtown Los Angeles. The nearly 12,000 SF space puts on display some of the firm’s first-in-class workplace design strategies while fostering productivity and providing room for the Los Angeles practice to continue to grow.

“We opened our first office in Los Angeles in 1994 and have continued to evolve our practice. This city, and the downtown neighborhood that we call home, has an energy that sparks collaboration and interaction,” said Steinberg Hart President & CEO David Hart, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP. “Our new space embraces the values that our firm was built upon—design, relationships, and change—while inspiring and supporting innovation, exploration and efficiency. Ultimately, all of this allows us to make an even larger impact on the communities that we serve by delivering first-class design for our clients. We’re excited to further deepen and expand our footprint across the region.”

As 30 percent of Steinberg Hart’s Los Angeles workforce commutes via public transportation, a location in a high-density area that was also accessible to a variety of transit options was key when the firm was selecting a new location for its Los Angeles office. In addition to being located within a block of the Los Angeles METRO 7th St/Metro Center station, the office’s amenity-rich downtown neighborhood also boasts high walkability to the area’s dining, retail, and entertainment attractions. To further create a connection with the city’s landscape, the 11th floor office boasts 270-degree views of the city that immediately visually draw the designers into the urban environment in which they’re designing.

In creating their own workspace, the Steinberg Hart team designed a flexible open workspace, gallery, pin-up areas, jewel-box private meeting rooms, forward-thinking amenities, and an expansive communal kitchen that supports a design culture built around collaboration and interactivity with an eye on health and wellness. The original brick, concrete and industrial features of the historic 1920s building serve as the backdrop of the new office.

The open-floor modern workspace, layered with the remnants of the historic structure, acts as a catalyst for growth that reflects Steinberg Hart’s best practices in workplace design while encouraging productivity and supporting great design.
