SmithGroupJJR Promotes Kevin Glasscock to Science & Technology Studio Leader at its Dallas Office

Kevin Glasscock

SmithGroupJJR, one of the nation’s largest architecture, engineering and planning firms in the U.S., announces the promotion of Kevin Glasscock, AIA LEED AP to Science & Technology studio leader at the Dallas office. In this role, he will focus on the needs of the firm’s current clients and grow market share in the robust research market in Texas.

He takes over the studio from David Winfrey, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, who previously served in dual roles, managing the company’s Science & Technology and Health studios in Texas.

“The science and technology and health markets in Dallas are exploding, and SmithGroupJJR is thriving in both sectors,” says Jay Rambo, director of the firm’s Dallas office. “Promoting Kevin to studio leader strengthens our ability to pursue additional work in the science and technology arena and frees up David to concentrate on continuing to grow the office’s healthcare portfolio.”

Since joining the firm in 2015 as a senior project manager, Glasscock has led several high profile science and university projects, including University of Texas (UT) Dallas Engineering Building, UT Health Northeast School of Community and Rural Health, UT Tyler Business Building and College of Arts and Sciences Renovation, and UT Tyler College of Pharmacy. Glasscock’s 30 years of experience guiding complex projects for higher education and research institutions and his effective management skills makes this transition to Science & Technology studio leader a natural step towards continued success in this sector for SmithGroupJJR.

Previously, Glasscock was an associate principal at Omniplan Architects, Dallas. His portfolio from that time includes laboratory and research buildings such as the C. Kern Wildenthal Research building at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas.

Glasscock received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a native Texan and currently resides in Dallas.
