Retreat Collection by Allsteel Wins an Interior Design Best of Year Award
The Retreat Collection, a family of upholstered, space-defining lounges from Allsteel, has won Interior Design magazine’s 2017 Best of Year Award for seating in the contract/guest category. Designed in partnership with Niels Bendtsen of Bendtsen Design Associates, Retreat received its accolade at the 12th Annual Awards gala ceremony–the Oscars of product design—on December 1 in New York City and will also be featured in Interior Design’s December issue.
Retreat’s coordinating family of lounges—a wing-back, a high-back, a low-back and an ottoman—work to solve the challenge of underutilized social and collaborative areas. The collection has a refined, residential look, thanks to Bendtsen’s long experience creating timeless pieces in the category. But drawing on its office practice and ergonomics expertise, Allsteel has made the seating’s geometry, size and scale ideal for comfortable work.
