Reintroducing a Turf Classic – Drop – with New Connections

Turf Refreshes Drop, an Enhanced, Flexible Acoustic Solution
The ceiling baffle is getting a revival, featuring a brand new connection type.

Chicago-based manufacturer Turf is excited to re-introduce Drop, an acoustic solution known for its soft form. The acoustic ceiling baffle is one of the brand’s most flexible solutions – in materiality – and offers versatility as it varies in height, connection and color, offering a customizable profile. While Drop maintains its same contemporary curved form using the material characteristics of 3mm PET felt and a 9mm PET felt stiffener, Turf has integrated new connection types for more project versatility. This addition allows the baffle’s height to be adjustable with a cable connection, reinforcing how Drop is notably understated, elegant, and performative.

“Turf’s top priority is to design each product to reach its fullest potential. To this end, Drop’s new connection types advance its functionality with increased versatility.” says Rob Perri, Turf President. “Drop offers architects, designers, and installers a new tool for easy installation and uncompromising design.”

Drop’s dimensions remain the same, with the option of a straight or tapered form. Drop is now available with more connection types. It’s still able to connect to Unistrut using Feltlock, but now you can attach directly to Tee Grid with Gridlock and the new “universal connector” opens the door to many connection types (including cable to deck).

Drop is made from 3mm PET felt, which creates the ‘drip’ in Drop, and 9mm PET felt, which forms the stiffener. As the 3mm is the baffle’s primary color, Drop is offered in 12 carefully curated tones – including both neutrals and bolds – that complement its curved form.
