Course Description: This course will cover the opportunities and challenges that are now facing today’s healthcare business and the new paradigm to provide a safe environment they are under.
Attendees Will:
- Learn about the legislation and compliance changes facing today’s healthcare business
- Discover what patient centered care means to both healthcare providers and healthcare consumers
- Explore the changes in healthcare design, property development and construction
- Discuss the important role that group purchasing organizations now play in the healthcare supply chain
- Review the Triple Aim and learn how it’s relevant to different client audience
- Learn how flooring supports patient centered care in healing environments

Speaker: John Maiolo
John, a 27-year veteran in the flooring industry, is currently the Global Corporate Accounts Manager for Tarkett in the Metro NYC area. He is a LEED AP, ID&C, past president and current Program Chairperson of his local IFMA Chapter. John is a former USGBC Board Member and a past Cornet NYC Sustainable Committee Member.

How Flooring Affects Acoustic Performance

Course Description: FLOORING+ACOUSTICS is a comprehensive and objective over-view of the science that accurately describes the relationship between flooring and acoustic performance in the built environment.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand how flooring impacts acoustics in the built environment.
- Assess the acoustic properties of different floorcoverings.
- Explain to others the importance of considering acoustic properties when specifying flooring.
- Identifying ways that acoustics can impact patient and staff outcomes in hospitals, student performance in learning environments and business professionals in office settings.
- Understand how acoustics can affect reimbursements to hospitals.
IDCEC (HSW) and AIA accredited.
Participants will earn one CEU learning unit for AIA, IDCEC and GBCI.

Brandon Kersey is Director of Business Development for Kinetex at Engineered Floors, LLC. Brandon divides his time between working from the mill and traveling around the country educating clients, dealers, A&D firms, and anyone interested in learning more about Kinetex.
