Light but Sturdy “Barstuul” Available in Multiple Aluminum and Wood Finishes
Portland-based architectural hardware and furniture designers Quartertwenty have developed “Bartstuul,” a modern barstool with asymmetrical footrest levels to accommodate the height of the user.
“If you sit on our Barstuul, you’ll notice you have multiple choices of where to put your feet,” Quartertwenty founder and designer Matthew Bietz said. “Sometimes you want them on the floor, but other times you want to use a relaxing footrest, or possibly a little higher so you can hold something on your lap.”
Barstuul ships with a choice of three finishes of anodized or powder-coated aluminum, with solid white oak, walnut or birch seating. They are compatible with table/countertops from 36” to 42” tall. Stools are made to order and take two to four weeks to ship after an order is placed.
Quartertwenty, founded in 2007, is an architectural hardware and furniture company that crafts a full line of wall-mounted storage solutions and a collection of seating elements in metal in wood for both residential and commercial interiors. From its fabrication facility in Portland, Quartertwenty explores process-oriented designs that minimize waste and promote reuse of leftover materials harvested from the fabrication process.
