The iconic Lord & Taylor building on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue has been transformed by WRNS Studio into a modern workplace for a leading tech company, effectively balancing the preservation of the building’s heritage with the client’s forward-thinking vision.

Central to this transformation are 55 of LightArt’s Coil Collection D1 pendants. Dispersed throughout the expansive project in grounding hues of Red Clay and Limestone, the fixtures create a soft, organic glow, beckoning employees to congregate and collaborate in comfort. While their sleek, modern shape offers a contemporary look from afar, up close, their textural finish—a byproduct of LightArt’s advanced additive manufacturing process—evokes a handcrafted, artisan quality that honors the building’s and Garment District’s rich history.

The D1 pendant manufacturing process, honed through years of research and development, embodies the client’s dedication to both innovation and sustainability. Using advanced 3D printing technology, each pendant is crafted with precision from recycled content. The fixtures are Red List Free approved, aligning seamlessly with the client’s sustainability goals and green building standards.
