Pratt Institute Announces Two New Chairs Within its School of Architecture

Pratt Institute, the renowned New York City-based college that educates creative thinkers from around the world, has named two new chairs in its School of Architecture.

David Erdman

David Erdman has joined Pratt Institute as Chair of Graduate Architecture and Urban Design (GAUD). Erdman comes to Pratt from the University of Hong Kong, where he was Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture. In addition to his academic work, Erdman is a co-founding director of the award-winning design firm davidclovers, which has been listed among Architectural Digest’s AD100 list of top architecture and design firms in Asia and exhibited work at the Venice Biennale, the Beijing Biennale, the Hong Kong/Shenzhen Biennale, in group shows at the Art Institute of Chicago, M+, Hong Kong and in a solo exhibition at the Southern California Institute of Architecture. Eve Baron has been appointed Chair of the Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment within the School of Architecture (GCPE). Baron brings extensive experience in higher education, advocacy, and government to the chair position. Most recently, she was Academic Program Manager of Urban and Community Studies at The Murphy Institute in the City University of New York’s (CUNY) School of Professional Studies (2013-2016).
