Poltrona Frau Presents Second Edition of “Atelier dei Saperi”

An initiative dedicated to preserving and passing on its artisanal excellence to future generations

Poltrona Frau renews its commitment to preserving and passing on the artisanal savoir-faire that has represented the heart of the company for over a century, with the launch of the second edition of its training project “Atelier dei Saperi.” Through this initiative, the company reaffirms its focus on enhancing human capital and promoting employment and professional requalification within the local community.

The initiative is intended not only for young people entering the workforce for the first time, but also for individuals seeking professional reskilling or repositioning, offering a hands-on learning experience combined with concrete employment opportunities.

The training path includes shadowing sessions and practical workshops within the production departments of Poltrona Frau’s Tolentino facility, fostering direct engagement with the company’s activities and processes.

The project now involves new partners: Fondo Forma.Temp and Gi Group, who contribute to the structuring and support of the training program, further strengthening the connection between education and job placement opportunities.

This second edition features two parallel courses of 250 hours each, dedicated to two of Poltrona Frau’s Business Units: Residential Living and In Motion, for a total of 10 participants.

The program aims to train Upholstery Operators and Covering Operators, providing specialised practical skills in material processing and upholstery techniques, with particular attention to leather craftsmanship. While the first edition included rotation across various company departments, this year’s participants were directly assigned to the departments relevant to each Business Unit and mentored by highly qualified internal trainers: Luca Animento, Production Supervisor, Upholstery & Packing Area for Residential Living, and Fabio Ferretti, Shift Leader, Upholstery Area for In Motion.

Starting in November 2025 and extending over 10 weeks until late January 2026, the course concluded with participants being offered a one-month contract, giving them a tangible opportunity to join the company and apply the specialised skills acquired during the initiative.

“Training is a fundamental pillar for Poltrona Frau, essential to nurturing talent and preserving a century-old tradition,” says Nicola Coropulis, CEO of Poltrona Frau. “With the second edition of Atelier dei Saperi, we continue to invest in the skills of new generations, offering them a tangible pathway for professional growth and a direct connection to our manufacturing and cultural heritage. Passing on artisanal expertise is not only about safeguarding a legacy of gestures, knowledge, and work culture, but also about creating new opportunities for those who aspire to build their careers within the world of craftsmanship.”

“Poltrona Frau In Motion is a highly specialized Business Unit, working alongside high-end players in the mobility sector, where expertise, innovation, and meticulous attention to detail are essential. Through Atelier dei Saperi, we invest in training new professionals to join our team, contributing their skills to the quality that defines us and supporting steady, sustainable growth over time,” comments Giovanni Maiolo, General Manager of Poltrona Frau In Motion.

Through this initiative, Poltrona Frau reaffirms its active role and commitment in enhancing human capital, promoting employment and preserving artisanal tradition, contributing to the sustainable development of the local area and to the growth of future professionals.
