Accomplished designer with over a decade of experience joins growing Houston team
Seasoned designer Martin Gollwitzer has joined global architecture firm Perkins and Will’s Houston Studio as Director of Operations.
“We’re thrilled to have Martin on board,” said Diana Davis, Managing Director and Principal at Perkins and Will’s Houston Studio. “Martin’s unique understanding of both the design and business side of the architecture field make him the perfect fit to lead our operations as we continue to expand our practice in the Houston area and beyond.”
A native Houstonian, Martin comes to Perkins and Will with more than 15 years of experience in both architecture and interior design, working throughout his career in the mission critical, education, and science sectors. Martin’s notable background in project management, along with his experience in business development, client relationships, and studio operations for design firms of all sizes, make him an excellent choice for this role as the firm’s Houston studio continues to grow.
“Design, particularly the business side, is something I have been drawn to since childhood,” says Gollwitzer. “Perkins and Will’s commitment to design, as well as their focus on empowering industry professionals of all levels, makes the firm a natural fit for me. I am thrilled to be joining the firm at this exciting time of growth for the Houston studio.”
Martin’s passion for the strategic process, the creation of memorable spaces, and innovative ideas will be integral as he works closely alongside other firm leadership to ensure seamless processes across all firm operations. One of Martin’s main focuses is a vision for the future of the firm, and this will be key in shepherding the Houston Studio into the next chapter. Martin’s collaborative philosophy, both in design and in the workplace, is an organic fit for the firm’s analogous company culture.
Martin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the International Academy of Design in Tampa, FL. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional, as well as a Certified Document Technologist. Martin is a founder, past president, and board member of the 7×24 Exchange Texas South Chapter, a member of the Rice Design Alliance, and serves on the Young Patron Steering Committee for Stages Repertory Theatre.
