Kara Thomas Joins Corgan’s Atlanta Interiors Studio

Kara Thomas

Global architecture and design firm Corgan announces that Kara Thomas has joined the firm’s Atlanta Interiors Studio as Vice President and Senior Project Manager. Ranked the No. 4 architecture firm in the U.S. by BD+C, Corgan’s Atlanta office has 50+ employees, and notable local clients include Autodesk and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

With more than 16 years of experience leading diverse, design-driven projects, Kara brings a thoughtful, strategic approach to every phase of the project lifecycle. She is drawn to the intersection of architecture and interiors, where design becomes a lived experience—shaping how people move, feel, and connect within a space.

Kara’s background has shaped her adaptable leadership style and her appreciation for the built environment. She is recognized for her ability to build trust across teams, navigate complexity, and deliver results that reflect both vision and precision. Each project reflects her deep commitment to creating spaces that are both contextually responsive and experientially rich.

Her notable projects include The Green Room, which earned the IIDA, Georgia, Best of Special Projects Award, and 1372 Peachtree, which received multiple honors, including the AIA, Georgia, Excellence Award for Best Renovation/Restoration, the Atlanta Urban Design Commission Design Award of Excellence, Historic Renovation, and recognition as a finalist for the Urban Land Institute’s Excellence in Office/Commercial Mixed-Use Development.

She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), from Winthrop University and a Master of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
