Huntsman Architectural Group Announces New Principals and a Promotion

Huntsman Architectural Group announces the promotion of two individuals to Principal and the elevation of an existing Principal to the firm’s Board of Directors. These promotions reflect the firm’s ongoing commitment to creating opportunities and value for the firm’s employee-owners. This good news supports the firm’s focus on creating meaningful places for clients and advancing the architecture and design professions.

Promoted to the role of Principal:
-Iris Chan AIA, LEED AP
-Karie Vagedes RID, IIDA, NCIDQ

Elevated to the Board of Directors:
-Nicole Everett NCIDQ, CID, LEED AP IDC

The individuals promoted to new responsibilities assume their roles immediately. Huntsman Architectural Group brings the professions of Architecture, Interior Architecture and Workplace Strategy to commercial real estate projects across the country from three office locations – San Francisco, Chicago and New York City.

Brief Bios:

Iris Chan

Architect Iris Chan joined the firm in 2008 as an Associate and has advanced over the years to be named a Principal of the firm. She is a trusted partner to many of the firm’s key clients from fast-paced technology companies to building owner/operators. Iris brings a rare combination of project management skills and technical depth, evidenced by her leadership across project delivery and QA processes. In co-managing the firm’s San Francisco Studio, Iris plays a vital role in mentoring colleagues and supporting new business development. Iris is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University with a Bachelor of Architecture.

Karie Vagedes

Designer Karie Vagedes first joined the firm in 2004 and then following a period as an independent interior designer, re-joined the firm in 2012 as a Project Designer and advanced over the years to be named a Principal of the firm. Karie’s contributions were initially with the San Francisco office before co-leading the launch of the firm’s Chicago office in 2017. She is a respected voice in the Chicago design and construction community including professional and volunteer organizations. Karie’s ability to cultivate and grow business relationships, drive operational excellence, and champion her colleagues reflects her deep commitment to Huntsman’s values. Karie is a graduate of University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Interior Design.

Nicole Everett

Designer Nicole Everett has long demonstrated the judgment, prudence, and temperament essential as a Principal of the firm and now, for the important stewardship role as a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, she will participate in decisions that shape the future of the firm, including strategies related to practice, operations, financial performance, and compliance.
