The Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) hosted a Design Jam last year with Landscape Architecture and Industrial Design students to explore new uses for recycled tires. A group of Sheridan College Industrial Design students won the first Industrial Design prize with the Shaw Bench.
Fig40 have partnered with OTS and the students to realize the concept, and on September 19th, the first prototype will be revealed. In the coming months, 4 benches will be fabricated for a permanent installation at Artscape Youngplace.
