Henner Jahns

OM, a California-based manufacturer of mid-market seating, drops a lively podcast interview with Henner Jahns as part of the company’s ongoing series OM Chats: Design Discussions for Thinking Professionals.

Henner Jahns, principal of Gecco Design, is an award-winning industrial designer, as well as OM’s partner in the design of the Werksy® Collection. He is joined by the OM marketing team in a fast-paced romp through his background, inspiration, and the delights of Werksy. His interview marks the third installment of the popular OM Chats series, which explores ideas of interest to the architecture and design industries.

OM envisioned the Chats as a series of conversations that would encompass a variety of speakers and topics while appealing to a community of curious, engaged professionals.  Launched October 2019 with the theme How Empathy Creates Extraordinary Experiences, the initial chat explored the role of empathy in the design of space and products. In front of an enthusiastic audience, OM was joined by architects, interior designers, and product designers from leading firms, namely Adaeze Cadet, Vice President at HKS; Julie Smith-Clementi of the newly formed Smith-Clementi; and Sarah Barnard, principal of Sarah Barnard Design.

The second chat took the form of a webinar titled Movement at Work – An Exploration of New Standards, Developments and Trends, presented by  speaker Mark E. Benden, Ph.D., CPE of Texas A&M University.

OM has developed a reputation for insightful conversation and a curiosity about the ideas and practices that inform the spaces in which we work and create community. OM Chats brings smart and offbeat themes into a casual environment and encourages thoughtful conversation. The series is available on OM’s website at www.omseating.com/omchats/.
