This year’s NY11+ Exhibit coincides with United Nations World Creativity and Innovation Day. Each student’s project was assessed and selected by their respective college’s curatorial team and was based on the quality of use and needs; the rationality of constructional approach; and the level of innovation in terms of both materials and techniques in relationship with local resources and traditions.

“The NY11+ Student exhibition is a wonderful way to showcase the design philosophy/beliefs, reinforce new habits (post covid), human behavioral information, and the powerful knowledge of interior design education”, says Hans J. Galutera, NY11+ Vice President and founder of HG DesignWorks LLC and one of the members of the New York State Education Board of Directors (NYSED)

NY11+ was founded by Ruth Lynford in 1997 as an exhibition of work from six New York metropolitan area interior design institutions. Under the auspices of the International Council for Caring Communities (ICCC), a non- governmental agency of the United Nations, students exhibited their work and met with delegates from all over the world, who took back to their native countries the students’ many innovative ideas in interior design.
