SALONE DEL MOBILE
Salone del Mobile 60th Edition
June 7-12, Fiera Rho Milano
The 60th edition of Salone will focus on the key values of quality, innovation, beauty and, now more than ever, sustainability. Following a successful “supersalone” and under the continued leadership of Salone del Mobile President Maria Porro, the show will use reusable or upcycled, low environmental impact, and FSC- or PEFC-certified materials for communal spaces.
Show exhibits will include EuroCucina, FTK (technology and appliances in the kitchen), the International Bathroom Exhibition, and S.Project. The International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Workplace3.0, and the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, will be split into three style categories: Classic, Design, and xLux. And of course, the esteemed design incubator SaloneSatellite will spotlight 600 promising young designers. This year’s theme will be DESIGNING FOR OUR FUTURE SELVES, with a strong focus on sustainability and the approach to design as the great equalizer.
The show will also host Mario Cucinella’s installation Design with Nature, exploring the themes of circular economy and reuse, starting with the idea that cities could be possible “reserves” of the future. The installation will examine ecological transition, the home as the prime urban element, and the city as a mine, ranging over a large space that acts simultaneously as a landscape and a hub for discussion, sharing, reflecting, and working. Following the show, the materials from this special exhibit will be reused as materials for new public spaces, libraries, and more.

A leading group of Italian creatives will interpret Salone’s 11 institutional values — emotion, enterprise, quality, design, networking, communication, culture, young people, ingenuity, Milan, and savoir faire — through a multi-sensory experience featuring a monumental “camera obscura” as part of a 3-act show.
