Andreu World Launches Solidarity Initiatives to Support Communities Affected by DANA in Valencia

Rebuilding Valencia together

Andreu World intensifies its commitment to those affected by the DANA storm in Valencia through three acts of solidarity:

-Donation of 3,000 chairs to families and communities in need through the SOS Valencia humanitarian aid program led by REMAR.

-Launch of an international GoFundMe campaign to preserve jobs for small businesses, shops, and freelancers, supported by the Valencian Association of Entrepreneurs (AVE) and Mamás en Acción.

-Creation of a solidarity design piece in collaboration with designer Patricia Urquiola, crafted from sustainable materials, to raise funds for reconstruction efforts.

Andreu World, a Valencian company specializing in contemporary furniture design, has launched a series of solidarity initiatives to support individuals and communities affected by the impact of the DANA storm in the Valencia region. As part of these efforts, the company has made a significant contribution by donating 3,000 chairs, launching a GoFundMe fundraising campaign, and developing a solidarity piece in collaboration with designer Patricia Urquiola.

Donation of 3,000 Chairs: SOS Valencia Humanitarian Aid Program

Andreu World has donated 3,000 chairs to families and communities most impacted by DANA in Valencia. This initiative is in partnership with the NGO REMAR as part of their SOS Valencia program, which aims to improve living conditions in the hardest-hit areas. REMAR will handle the distribution of the chairs to those in need, assisting in the recovery of homes and community centers across four towns: Aldaia, Catarroja, Paiporta, and Sedaví.

“As a Valencian company, we feel deeply committed to our community. During challenging times like these, it is our responsibility to lend a helping hand. This is just one of several solidarity initiatives we are undertaking to support those affected by DANA,” said Jesús Llinares, CEO of Andreu World.

Additionally, in collaboration with Feria Valencia, Andreu World has donated 500 chairs to a furniture storage center. These items will be distributed to families in need, further supporting the reconstruction of homes destroyed by the storm.

International Campaign: Rebuilding Valencia Together

In response to the struggles faced by small businesses and shops, Andreu World has launched the Rebuilding Valencia Together initiative. This global crowdfunding effort on GoFundMe aims to preserve jobs in the region.

The initiative is part of the From Valencia, For Valencia movement, championed by renowned Valencian chefs such as Ricard Camarena, Quique Dacosta, and Begoña Rodrigo, who are joining forces for Valencia’s recovery. Supported by the Valencian Association of Entrepreneurs (AVE), 100% of the funds raised will be allocated to those affected via Mamás en Acción, a trusted Valencian non-profit organization with over a decade of service and certified transparency in its operations.

The “Thinking Stool” by Patricia Urquiola

Natural disasters call for reflection: Can we do things differently to ensure a habitable future? The aftermath of the DANA storm in Valencia, Andreu World’s place of origin, has had a profound impact on many. This is a reminder that our actions today have lasting consequences, emphasizing the urgency of sustainable and socially responsible practices.
Patricia Urquiola’s Thinking Stool symbolizes this vision. Designed to prompt reflection, it will be 3D printed using sustainable materials and distributed globally through Andreu World’s network. All proceeds from its sale will be directed toward reconstruction efforts.
