NJ-Based dancker Acquires U.S. Business Interiors

Acquisition Will Add All USBI Employees to dancker Staff as Company Continues Accelerated Expansion

Integrated interior solutions firm dancker announced that it has acquired the assets of U.S. Business Interiors (USBI), a Steelcase furniture dealer headquartered in Capitol Heights, Maryland and with offices in Baltimore, expanding dancker’s presence into the Baltimore-Washington market and increasing its ability to serve clients in the region.

“We are very proud to be adding the talented team at USBI to our organization,” says Steven Lang, dancker President & CEO. “Our teams share a customer-driven value system and commitment to provide innovative solutions to address today’s business challenges. Our customers will experience a seamless transition as we continue to expand our ability to provide integrated solutions that connect people, places, and technology to achieve better business outcomes.”

USBI will begin doing business as dancker immediately and will continue to provide the same products and exceptional services for which the company has become known. In addition to acquiring USBI’s headquarters location, dancker will take-over USBI’s showroom on S. Charles Street in Downtown Baltimore.

Approximately 60 USBI employees will join dancker’s team. An integration team from dancker is currently on location in Capitol Heights, Maryland for three months to assist with the transition to ensure continuity in business practices and assimilation of company culture. Additionally, the company is hiring a senior-level executive to help execute an aggressive growth strategy in this market.

“Joining an organization with a long, proud history and outstanding reputation means our clients will now benefit from even greater expertise, working with an industry leader able to provide fully integrated architectural, furniture, technology, and logistical solutions,” notes Kurt Weiss, President of USBI. “I am thrilled to be a part of the team that will help write the next chapter of dancker’s history in Baltimore-Washington market.”

At nearly 200 years old, dancker creates effective and flexible environments for organizations that include several Fortune 100 companies. dancker is the only Northeastern company to be named Steelcase Premier Partner for five consecutive years and has strong relationships with over 400 manufacturers in the furniture, architectural products and audiovisual industries, including partners like Steelcase, DIRTT, Maars Living Walls, Crestron, and Microsoft.
