New Outdoor Collection from FLOS

FLOS brings the sophistication and ingenuity of Italian lighting design to the outdoors with a much-anticipated collection of outdoor lighting fixtures. Launching in North America on February 26, 2020, the collection includes designs by Michael Anastassiades, Piero Lissoni, and Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, and spans both architectural and decorative lighting. This blend of different designs shows FLOS’ ability to take a technical product and design it in a way that makes it suitable for all types of spaces.

Michael Anastassiades has come up with an In&Out version of the iconic IC Lights floor lamp, enriching a sophisticated elegance with a new free spirit, for indoor and outdoor use. On top of the thin stem, as if in a balancing act, is a blown glass sphere. To make the lamp suitable for outdoor use, FLOS adjusted the materials, finishes and technological waterproof engineering to meet the expected requirements for outdoor lighting fixtures. Combined with the exploration of light, the bold experimentation in shape and LED technology results in a poetic functionality at its best.

Climber
DESIGN BY PIERO LISSONI

Climber

Climber is a light which climbs up the walls. Indeed, it touches them with delicacy as it does so,” says designer Piero Lissoni. A minimalist light box reaching new heights, Climber is an outdoor, wall-mounted lighting fixture with LED light source which seeks to illuminate without limitations. Vertically mounted, the simplistic geometric design shines up and down, featuring a low copper, die-cast aluminum body. Glass-protected low optics are set to minimize glare and maximize visual comfort.

Camouflage
DESIGN BY PIERO LISSONI

Camouflage

Like the magical effect of a lunar eclipse in a dark sky, Camouflage by Piero Lissoni is surrounded by a circular halo of light. This ultra-slim LED wall sconce seamlessly blends with architecture and nature without being noticed, and merges flush with the wall thanks to special plates in rough materials covering the disc surface. Finishes include teak wood, Basaltina stone, and Crema d’Orcia marble or various kinds of marbles on request.

Landlord
DESIGN BY PIERO LISSONI

Landlord Soft
Landlord Spot

“If you are a flower or a tree or a simple two or four-legged animal, you have to ask Landlord for permission if you want to pass unharmed through the night,” says designer Piero Lissoni of Landlord, which combines gentle design with an innovative versatile outdoor light. Landlord Soft is discreet and orientable with an adjustable head to be installed on ground poles for diffuse lighting, and Landlord Spot provides direct light for the outdoors as a versatile round spotlight.

Bellhop

Originally conceived as a table lamp for the London Design Museum restaurant, Bellhop moves outdoors in the form of a bollard, wall and ceiling light. Reminiscent of a hatted hotel porter, Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby’s contemporary design offers diffused lighting which enriches landscapes and architecture. Bellhop utilizes the latest generation LED technology installed around the lamp head, protected by an opal optic diffuser, allowing a smooth and homogeneous light to radiate all around the pole.
