Ottomano is the new luminous handrail designed by Michele Marcon for OLEV, Italian company specialized in the production of LED lighting fixtures for interior design and architecture.
Ottomano is an innovative aluminium lighting fixture. Functional and scenographic, it is installed directly on the wall, like any handrail, combining traditional supportive function with efficient lighting. Ottomano can also be placed outdoors.
The ergonomic octagonal section of Ottomano accommodates a double light source. The first, located in the lower part, illuminates the steps for greater safety, while the second, in the inner part, projects the light towards the wall, illuminating the entire stairwell and preventing direct glare.
Each Ottomano is custom-made thus fitting every project specifications.

Thanks to an 8-sided ergonomic shape and a double light source, it adds functionality and style to any staircase.
The light source placed at the bottom of the fixture illuminates the steps ensuring safety.
The light source placed inside Ottomano reflects light onto the wall to provide the whole stairway with glare-free illumination.
Each Ottomano is custom-made, and the length is adapted to the project’s specifications.
In 2020 Ottomano achieved the honorable mention at European Product Design Award.
