New from Maharam: Shore, Glaze, and Etch by Hella Jongerius

A result of our longtime collaboration with Hella Jongerius, Maharam is introducing a rug and two textiles that reflect Jongerius’s dedication to hand-rendered processes.

With Shore, Jongerius sought the translucent blending of watercolor within densely felted wool. In a process Jongerius describes as “cooking with color,” tufts of wool are washed, soaked, dyed, and layered by hand.

Upholstery textiles Glaze and Etch replicate the variation of the handmade on an industrial scale. Glaze’s fluid and overlapping shapes reference glazed ceramic tiles Jongerius originally designed for a tabletop, while Etch captures the irregularity of hand-drawn lines.
