New from Encore: Kuvi Work Lounge Designed by Chris & Jon Panichella

Kuvi Integrates Clever Accessories to Provide Endless Flexibility

Designed with productivity in mind, the Kuvi work lounge collection by Encore incorporates thoughtful accessories with versatile functionality, offering endless ways to facilitate work and focus.

Developed in response to the need for a more comfortable multi-use chair that supported both individual work and collaboration, product designers Chris and Jon Panichella of Achella Design sought a solution that would maintain a high level of utility while incorporating the larger proportions and softer cushioning traditionally found in lounge seating.

ā€œThe classroom-type chair was the kickoff point for Kuvi due to its transitionary nature. We started with a comfortable seat that was similar to a lounge-style scale and dismantled it to ļ¬t within a light steel frame that allowed the capability to mix and match different arm, tablet and shelf options depending on the needs of any given space,ā€ states Chris Panichella.

The generously proportioned back and seat cushions offer a softness and warmth that counterbalances the cleverly designed metal frame. A built-in handle on the outer back offers ease of mobility, while simultaneously providing a convenient place to hang a backpack, scarf or jacket ā€“ just one of several thoughtful details conceived by the design team.

Various model options include casters for mobility, a right or left articulating tablet with 360-degree movement, storage under the seat with a guardrail to keep items from shifting, and an integrated side table with available cupholder, also offered with left or right-side placement. Veneer and laminate materials are available in a variety of different selections, as is the metal frame which can be speciļ¬ed in Encoreā€™s standard or premium ļ¬nishes to allow for additional customization. These rich features collectively provide nearly endless possibilities and enable speciļ¬ers to conļ¬gure the ideal combination of accessories to ļ¬t the intended space.

ā€œKuvi incorporates exceptional design in both a visual and practical manner, resulting in something thatā€™s aesthetically playful while also providing helpful tools that work well in collaborative spaces,ā€ says Helen Kim, Encore VP of Marketing.

Equal parts utility and performance, Kuvi is readily available to meet the needs of ļ¬‚ex spaces, universities, coworking environments and other casual meeting applications. And, with a bit of design whimsy, it does so in a charming, unexpected way.
