Our creative campaign showcases Matter’s forward-looking attitude, our commitment to design excellence, performance, and sustainability, and our mission to help designers make decisions with impact,” says chief marketing officer Chuck Heckman.

For Matter “style” and “sustainability,” “fashion” and “function” are intertwined to the point of fusion. The new creative campaign brings this modern outlook into vivid life, showcasing Matter’s one-of-a-kind flooring brands BOLON, PURLINE, and Parador Modular ONE in unexpected settings with models who represent the intensely personal styles and needs of the consumer. “Our intention was not only to draw attention to the beautiful modern design of the flooring, but to also convey how far sustainable innovation and technology has come. The products featured in these images are made with post-consumer and sustainable methods—they combine beauty with resilience and impact,” says art director Hannah Lefcourt. “Our set designer, Caroline Pigou, created really powerful environments with our products, and photographer Joe Tanis helped us find the best moments to capture.”

About Matter Surfaces
Matter Surfaces was founded in 1971 as Mats Inc., a family-owned company selling entrance mats throughout the Greater Boston area. Founders Bob and Catherine Schiffmann spent the next decade building a vast portfolio of entrance solutions and strong vendor and client relationships. As the company continued to grow, Bob and Catherine’s 3 sons joined the business. Together, John, Richard and Paul opened additional warehouses and expanded the sales team across the country while diversifying their product portfolio. In the early 90s, they introduced contract flooring products – known today as the Formative Collection.
