Mercy Medical Center held its official dedication for the new Pediatric Express Care Unit. The dedication recipient, Garden City resident Gregory F. Burke, recently donated $25,000 to help fund the new facility, which is named after his late mother, Angela Swenson Burke. As CEO of Lane Office in New York City and a benefactor to numerous organizations, Mr. Burke was so impressed with the quality of care given by Mercy’s medical and nursing staff, he decided to assist the hospital in this initiative. The expansion of the Pediatric Express Care program is part of Mercy’s ongoing effort to address the needs of underserved communities, including individuals and families who may not have a personal physician.
