MBH Architects Keeps Employees Engaged Through Pioneering Education Initiative

Inaugural class of the Framework education program offered by MBH Architects.

In an increasingly competitive job market, it is important for architecture practices to differentiate themselves from other firms who may offer employees similar benefits and amenities. In response to this fluctuating market, California-based MBH Architects created Framework, a mutually-beneficial internal education program led by the firm’s Senior Associates, that teaches MBH Job Captains advanced industry skills.

In creating Framework, MBH saw an opportunity to help retain talent, training existing employees so that they can grow and excel within the company instead of seeking opportunities with competing firms. Framework is also a great way for the firm to form bridges between the numerous studios that live underneath the MBH umbrella, as it connects Job Captains from each department.

Spread out across a 26-week-long period, the program takes up only four hours in a single week, integrating ongoing projects the Job Captains are currently working on in order to apply the skills they have learned in the field. By creating an opportunity for existing employees to gain critical skills that will help them grow within the company, MBH is hoping to retain the talent they already have as well as attract new employees who are looking for a position they can truly flourish in.
