Reena Nadkarni

An award-winning firm specializing in retail, workspace and multi-family projects, California-based firm MBH Architects has announced that Reena Nadkarni has been appointed Principal and is responsible for overseeing the firm’s new office in Mumbai, India, which opened in May 2018.

“Creating an office in my home country of India has opened so many doors – new services to offer our clients, opportunities for our staff to grow new relationships and explore different cultures, and a chance to see a worldwide presence for this firm I take so much pride in,” says Nadkarni.

Nadkarni joined MBH Architects as a Job Captain in 2006, where she worked with a large roster of clients in the retail sector. For the past four years, Nadkarni has worked as Studio Director of the Retail and Restaurant Design Studio where she contributed to a number of prominent projects for influential clients including Tesla, Starbucks, Bath & Body Works, the Gap brands, and John Varvatos amongst others. Nadkarni has a track record of understanding business needs and conducting strategic planning and programming for large rollout programs. Her passion, experience, and strong eye for retail design has made her an indispensable leader and point of contact for MBH’s client base.

A licensed architect in both the United States and India, Nadkarni is leading the management of the international expansion of the MBH Architects brand in India. The new Mumbai-based branch will be an extension to our team in the US. The retail market in India is not mature, and MBH will bring its knowledge to the retail sector in India and take on local projects for our Global clients. Nadkarni will grow the 16-person office while also continuing to lead MBH’s Retail Studio in California. Her proven ability to carry out large-scale, national retail projects and programs while coordinating in both metric and imperial documentation will serve her well in this new position, helping to better serve the firm’s current clientele as well as grow its roster globally.

MBH Architects is looking forward to Nadkarni’s continued success and growth in her new role. Her professionalism and ability to nurture relationships with clients will lead to more opportunities in all of MBH’s future endeavors throughout the U.S. and abroad.
