Masdar City Phase 2 Master Plan Wins 2015 AIA Middle East Award
CBT is pleased to announce that our recently approved Detailed Master Plan for Masdar City Phase 2 has received the AIA Middle East’s Urban Design and Planning Award. This forward-thinking plan establishes a strong identity and a flexible framework for the organic growth and development of one of the world’s first eco-cities. The jury praised the project as the “undeniable winner of the category” for its “seamless blending of residential, research and development clusters within a tight knit urban fabric.”
Focused on sustainability and innovation, Masdar City’s Phase 2 Detailed Master Plan creates a welcoming and walkable community that encourages a culture of creativity and collaboration in the desert outside of Abu Dhabi. By taking an integrated approach to community design, this highly replicable plan creates a continuous public realm that inspires community building, innovation and the exchange of new ideas at all scales.
