Introducing Luum Textiles’ Reed Tones, an upholstery reminiscent of fiber art and basketry that elevates the simplicity of an up-the-roll stripe into a multi-colored, textural, and tactile design.

Reed Tones, designed by Creative Director Dorothy Cosonas
Reed Tones is only the second stripe in the Luum Textiles line, and is one of seven textiles in Beyond the Surface collection—Creative Director Dorothy Cosonas’ debut collection for the brand.
To weave this fabric, a highly specialized North American mill partner worked closely with Cosonas and the Luum Creative team to create specialized warps for the 10 colorways. Four different yarns were used—including North American wool, post consumer recycled polyester, and pre consumer recycled cotton—and woven on a double beam construction. Eleven warp colors of various thicknesses within each colorway create Reed Tones’ signature subtle pattern fluctuation. This is true North American craftsmanship.
The corded appearance features raised and recessed channels, creating a multi-faceted surface across the 26” horizontal repeat, allowing the rhythm and energy of the stripe to take hold across 10 distinct colorways.
Reed Tones offers a high-end look with contract-grade performance. Due to its detailed and complex color narrative, the textile can effortlessly initiate a palette for various design sectors such as workplace, hospitality, higher education, and retail.
