Luna Textiles has launched a new collection for 2023. Inspired by key moments in textile history, The Echo Collection uses sustainable materials, classic techniques, and iconic trends to evoke timeless textile design.
With a fresh perspective on structure and color, the Echo Collection comprises four new fabric patterns, including upholstery and panel options in coordinating palettes. Constructed using natural materials including wool, cotton and reclaimed ocean waste, the textiles are environmentally conscious and Indoor Advantage Gold certified.
Commenting on the launch of the Echo Collection, vice president of design at Luna Textiles, Dena Molnar said: “Pulling from moments throughout textile history, Luna’s Echo Collection nods to past techniques and styles, now woven into new contemporary designs. Each of these new textiles reflects a different period in time, but all share a common story of seminal weaving styles, that today, work well together.”
Forming part of the Echo Collection, Guild is a modern, yet earthen fabric, with a multi-colored geometric design. Using sustainable components including wool, post-consumer recycled polyester and cotton, which gives this fabric a warm and soft texture, Guild is durable with high abrasion resistance for use in both hospitality and corporate settings. Guild recalls block design weaving, from the Bauhaus Weaving Workshop; and references different female artists from the workshop.
Using recycled ocean waste, the Echo Collection’s Raya features vivid hues and a soft and modern boucle texture with a striae effect. Raya’s aesthetic references traditional hand weaving techniques made fresh with vibrant yarn pairings set against a bold warp stripe.
A luxury velvet with a boldly modern pleat, Wide Wale is a bleach cleanable and high performing, classical fabric with a modern twist. Wide Wale is dramatic velvet rib. It draws on the history of Corduroy, while made modern by the width of the “wale”, or rib.
Dash has an elegant and small-scale graphic and a playful, yet refined field of rotating dashes which create a classic Luna aesthetic, with a softened update. References 80s Memphis style graphics, but with an updated earthen palette.
