Leading global law firm Jones Day has engaged Elkus Manfredi Architects to provide strategic planning and design for its new Boston workplace. The office will be located in the 51-story South Station Tower, which is currently under construction in South Station, the major regional transportation hub in downtown Boston. The new office will comprise 41,000 square feet across two contiguous floors. Tower construction is anticipated to be completed in March 2026, and occupancy by Jones Day will take place later in 2026.

Jones Day is the first tenant to sign a lease in the new tower. “We want to demonstrate our deep commitment to Boston by moving to this landmark location and beautiful new building,” says Colleen Laduzinski, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s Boston office. “To be able to arrive right in the station on the commuter rail or subway and go directly upstairs to an office that is designed specifically for our practice and our culture will truly enhance our experience and strengthen our connections. We look forward to welcoming our clients and collaborating together in our new space.”

Known for its strategic law firm office planning and design approach, Elkus Manfredi begins the design of each workplace with “a blank slate and a curious mind,” says Elizabeth Lowrey, a Principal at Elkus Manfredi Architects. “We focus on understanding the unique character, culture, and vision of each law firm we collaborate with.” To ensure the firm’s clients stay ahead of emerging trends in law firm office design, Elkus Manfredi produces a biannual Legal Workplace Snapshot© research report featuring proprietary analysis and insights.

“It’s a great honor for us to be working with such a prestigious firm, especially one that is looking at the future of its practice with such forethought,” Lowrey continues. “Law firms that will succeed in the future must be based in agile, flexible, and resilient workplaces that can change without fuss, strengthen the culture that defines their practice, and carry the firm’s vision through the coming decades. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Jones Day to prepare for their next chapters in Boston.”
