~ Rottet, Visual Comfort & Co.’s Newest Design Partner, Takes LED Technology to New Levels of Contemporary Warmth ~
Lauren Rottet, internationally celebrated Hall of Fame designer and interior architect, is sought after for her luxurious, yet contemporary style. Rottet’s eye for detail and proportion coupled with her choice of unique materials have become trademarks of the cutting-edge products she creates for her hospitality and residential projects. Lighting has always been a fundamental component of her designs for interiors and she is particularly excited to launch this collection with Visual Comfort & Co. as the company’s newest design partner. Visual Comfort offers the industry’s widest range of incomparable lighting choices of extraordinary quality.
“Lighting has been integral to the many interiors I have designed,” says Rottet. “I’ve always loved glass and am fascinated by the techniques that produce glass tubes and rods.”
Rottet’s new Fascio Collection, which translates into “bundle” in Italian, is comprised of faceted glass tubes and rods that are bound and produced as sconces, pendant lights, chandeliers and a floor lamp. The Fascio Single Pendant and Large Floor Lamp are the newest additions to the line, which is available to ship now.
At first glance, the lights appear simple, but they are technologically complex to design and engineer. “The technology wasn’t there to do these even three years ago – the Fascio Collection is a true exploration,” advises Rottet.
The challenge was to utilize LED technology and improve upon it, removing the glare, yet not allowing it to appear too flat. The result is a beautiful incandescent, ambient light that radiates a glow from its center, while fading as it reaches the fixture’s edge.
The collection is contemporary, yet warm, well-proportioned and perfectly detailed. It is manufactured out of highly refined, watery smooth cut crystal wrapped in textured and smooth brass sleeves in a choice of Polished Nickel, Hand-rubbed Antique Brass and Bronze finishes.
“We are very much looking forward to the success of our collaboration with Lauren Rottet; her collection promises to be as important as her contributions to the design industry,” concludes Andy Singer, founder and president, Visual Comfort & Co.
