Landscape Forms Names Dyan Van Fossen Vertical Market Development Leader
North America’s largest manufacturer of premium site furniture, accessories and LED lighting has announced the appointment of Dyan Van Fossen to the newly created position of Vertical Market Development Leader. Landscape Forms Vice President of Design and Marketing, Kirt Martin, states, “Landscape Forms strives to be a resource for helping design professionals use site furniture to create great outdoor spaces. Dyan has a real passion for research, customer communication and intelligence gathering. She will be a vital member of our team as we work to develop tools for the profession.”
In her new role Ms. Van Fossen will be responsible for conducting field research and gathering insights from end-users in the university, healthcare and corporate sectors that will enable the company to deepen its understanding of these markets, grow its relationships with customers, and drive development of innovative new products by identifying unmet market needs. “It’s all about design thinking,” she explains. “Talking with end users, learning about their challenges and bringing the information back to Landscape Forms. I like being on the front lines learning about problems and being part of the team that decides what we are going to do about them.”
Ms. Van Fossen brings extensive experience from the furniture manufacturing industry to the Landscape Forms Marketing Team. As Vice President of Research and Development at La-Z-Boy Inc., she managed development and innovation for new products, developed processes and technology to improve efficiency, and set in place a “fill the funnel” system to provide a steady stream of products to the marketplace. In her prior capacity as a Director in the Creative Office and Herman Miller Red at Herman Miller Inc., she provided direction for two strategic businesses to discover breakthrough opportunities beyond the Fortune 500 company’s traditional office furniture market and, as Director of Advanced Projects, led extensive market trend research, product strategy and product opportunity identification activities. Ms. Van Fossen is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a BA in Interior Architecture.
