Fifty employees from Landscape Forms, North America’s leading designer and manufacturer of high-design LED site furniture, lighting, structure, and accessories, recently supported a local company to build a low-cost, readily available medical bed for healthcare providers currently coping with the surge of coronavirus patients.
With the bed design and materials set in place, the company was seeking people with fabrication expertise to help construct the beds as quickly as possible in order to meet the demand. Landscape Forms had individuals available to assist, from assembly professionals to licensed forklift operators to quality control experts, and the team started doing their part at a neighboring facility on the evening of April 6th.
“I’m so proud of the team members for committing their time and expertise during the COVID-19 pandemic to make an impact in healthcare,” says Landscape Forms VP of Operations, Tim Woolley.
This recent venture adds to Landscape Forms’ ongoing efforts to mitigate the impact of COVID-19—efforts that have also included donations of personal protective equipment to healthcare authorities, and partnerships with peer companies to produce clear protective face shields for those on the front lines of care.
“Ultimately, I think this cooperative effort is a triple-win for everyone involved,” says Landscape Forms CEO, Marjorie Simmons. “A local medical technology company receives the production help they need, Landscape Forms has the opportunity to share our technical knowledge and can-do spirit during this human crisis, and most importantly, victims of the virus will get the comfort and care they so desperately need. It’s very rewarding to see the immense benefit that occurs when industries work together to maximize our potential to do good.”
