Innovative manufacturer brings home honor for design excellence
Koleksiyon, manufacturer of innovative solutions for contemporary work culture, is proud to announce that its Tola office and conference chair has won the German Design Award’s Excellent Product Design award in the Office Furniture category.
Launched in 2012, by the German Design Council, the German Design Awards is one of the most well-respected design competitions in the world. A jury of design experts from various disciplines select each winner based on a rigorous evaluation of the product’s quality and unique contribution to the international design landscape. Koleksiyon’s Tola chair was one of 45 products to be awarded this year out of approximately 2,500 entries.
“We are honored that Tola was selected as a winner of this prestigious award,” says Koray Malhan, Chief Design Officer of Koleksiyon. “Koleksiyon’s team of designers are continuously encouraged to create innovative products that provoke a larger discussion about society and culture—challenging both the architect and the end-user to see the world from a new perspective. Tola is representative of this methodology, inspiring a re-evaluation of the traditional workplace layout.”
Conceptualized by f/p design’s Fritz Frenkler and Anette Ponholzer for Koleksiyon, the Tola office and conference chair is designed to respond to a shift in workplace culture, where hierarchal distinctions are are becoming less prominent. Tola is versatile in its appearance, with modular, overlapping back shells that look equally as stylish as a low back conference chair, high back executive chair, or as bench seating. Tola’s thoughtful design is timeless and functional, allowing the seat to fit perfectly into an office or residential environment.
Tola has received various accolades in the past, including the 2013 Red Dot Design Award, the 2014 IF Product Design Award, and the 2016 Green Good Design Award. To receive additional information on Tola and Koleksiyon’s vast product offerings, please visit: koleksiyoninternational.com.
