A Bed for the Holidays: Deliveries & assembly taking place Wednesday – Friday
New beds are on the way to area shelters thanks to KI, a Green Bay-based custom manufacturer of furniture for education, healthcare, workplace and government. The solid wood bedframes were produced by KI’s Manitowoc manufacturing facility.
“One of our core beliefs is making a difference in the lives of others,” stated Brian Krenke, CEO of KI. “Many of us don’t give a second thought to having a bed to sleep in, but for organizations helping the homeless, beds are always in short supply. They may have mattresses, but rarely have actual beds. This is a need we could respond to, knowing it will have an immediate and meaningful impact.”
Organizations receiving the beds include:

St. John’s Ministries in Green Bay will receive 32 beds

NEW Community Shelter in Green Bay will receive 28 beds

Foundations Health & Wholeness of Green Bay will receive 12 beds
At all locations, KI employees will help unload the beds and work with shelter personnel to assemble the first bed.
“What a wonderful donation to receive,” stated Alexia (Lexie) Wood, Executive Director of St. John’s Ministries. “We are always thankful for the new mattresses that are donated to us, but we don’t always have beds or bedframes for the mattresses. I know our guests will be immensely grateful to have actual beds to sleep in.”
NEW Community Shelter C.E.O., Terri Refsguard, said, “Through the generosity of KI, these beds will offer warmth and security to someone in need during and after the holiday season.”
Ryan Good, President/C.E.O. of Foundations Health & Wholeness, summed up the sentiment of all three organizations, stating, “KI is a great example of a company with worldwide reach, that demonstrates it truly cares about its local community as well. We truly appreciate this donation.”
