With NeoCon behind us and some great Keilhauer award wins under their belt (see below) we just wanted to check in and make sure you have information on Keilhauer’s two new collections – Chemistry and Wheels— and a new product, Collo, all designed by Austrian-based design firm, EOOS.
Chemistry — A collection of interconnecting benches and tables. When the elements are combined, the configurations produce interesting shapes, not unlike the appearance of chemical compounds.
Wheels — This seven-piece collection of mobile seating and tables is designed to support an idea lab, where the spontaneous exchange of ideas fosters creativity.
Collo — A well-proportioned side or conference chair with gentle curved edges and various base designs, created to meet the rising demands of seating for private conference rooms.
NEOCON AWARD WINS
— HiP – for Wheels, Chemistry, and EOOS
— Best of NeoCon – Innovative Product for Chemistry (explained by the judges as an award that ranks above Gold in terms of importance because only a very few are given out)
— Metropolis Likes for Wheels.
AT NEOCON, KEILHAUER INTRODUCES THREE NEW INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS, ALL DESIGNED BY EOOS
7.15.15 | Chicago, IL | For NeoCon, Keilhauer proudly introduces two new collections – Wheels and Chemistry— and a new product, Collo, all designed by Austrian-based design firm, EOOS. “Designing for the contemporary workplace means our pieces need to consider mobility and adaptability,” says Mike Keilhauer, President and CEO of Keilhauer. “These new designs reflect the creativity, passion and desire to raise the bar on contract furniture.”
WHEELS
This seven-piece collection of mobile seating and tables is designed to support an idea lab, where the spontaneous exchange of ideas fosters creativity. The designs take inspiration from Building 20, a structure erected on the MIT campus during WWII that was known as a “magical incubator” because of the fundamental advances in physics made there. With its various configurations, the Wheels collection was designed for flexible, on a whim, collaboration.
The resulting pieces in the collection—armless lounge chair, high back 2-seater bench, chaise, stool, idea divider, and two round tables—are all equipped with large casters and built with light wire structures to make the collection movable in an instant. Available in 30” and 47.5” diameter, the round powered table, the hub of the collection, is perhaps the most innovative piece. A cutout in the center provides easy access to devices being charged, that sit on a shelf below, leaving the table top clear for other meeting accessories. Power is completely mobile — the extra-long extension cord (bright orange to add a touch of whimsy) plugs into any wall outlet.
CHEMISTRY
Chemistry is a unique collection of interconnecting benches and tables, consisting of a V-shaped bench, a base, and 3 tables, (square, rectangular, trapezoid). When elements are combined, the configurations produce interesting shapes, not unlike the appearance of chemical compounds, hence the name.
The basic elements include a two-seater V-shaped bench incorporating the “magic angle of communication”, which rests on a simple wire base and ground plate, plus three tables of different shapes, which connect to the benches. Easy configuration and reconfiguration means unlimited possibilities exist for the furniture to accommodate any meeting scenario.
COLLO
Collo is a well-proportioned side or conference chair with gentle curved edges and various base designs, created to meet the rising demands of seating for private conference rooms.
Available with and without arms, Collo has three different bases: 4 legs in steel; 4 legs in wood; 5-star swivel bases in aluminum and nylon. A side lounge chair complements the conference chair design. The swivel base provides a soothing rocking motion for extra comfort, and a space between the seat and backrest ensures ease of cleaning.
Quality and Sustainability
All three new products are built from the highest-quality materials, are designed and manufactured to last for many years, and are supported by Keilhauer’s standard 10-year warranty. They will carry both level® 2 (gold) and SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certification, and are manufactured with 100% renewable energy, in facilities that produce zero waste to landfill.
