Keilhauer Welcomes New Sustainability Officer

Joseph Palladino to lead ‘Planet Keilhauer’ sustainability program amongst other duties

Effective Aug. 16, Keilhauer is excited to announce the appointment of their new Sustainability Officer, Joseph Palladino.

As Keilhauer’s Sustainability Officer, Palladino will manage and oversee Keilhauer’s environmental and corporate social responsibility functions, and will be responsible for achieving and maintaining Keilhauer’s comprehensive Planet Keilhauer sustainability program. Palladino will also be responsible for developing, maintaining and improving Keilhauer’s environmental certifications, such as BIFMA LEVEL, Cradle to Cradle, Indoor Air Quality, and Forest Stewardship Council, as well as growing the company’s carbon neutral offerings and programs.

Palladino joins the Keilhauer team with proven experience in integrating sustainable solutions into the business function. A firm believer in the principle of “doing well by doing good,” Palladino’s specialties include the development and facilitation of corporate sustainability programs, environmental management and compliance systems, and sustainability certifications. He previously served as a sustainability consultant with Toronto-based firm CD Sonter Environmental Consultants, providing guidance to clients looking to exceed their sustainability targets, communicate their environmental programs and commitments, and reduce their impact on the environment. He has also served as the sustainability manager for Silver Hotel Group, where he created and managed the company’s inaugural corporate sustainability policies and 8-year corporate sustainability strategy.

Palladino’s academic training includes a Master of Science in Sustainability Management (University of Toronto) and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Urban Geography and Canadian Policy (McMaster University). A lifelong student of sustainability, Palladino also maintains a certificate in Corporate Sustainability Reporting, TRUE Zero Waste certification, and an Environmental Practitioner® designation.
