July 18 – IIDA NY IMPACT NY: Greenpoint Clean-Up and Beautification
Join us on Saturday, July 18th for Greenpoint Clean-Up and Beautification!
Help the Greenpoint Chamber of Commerce with “Curb Your Litter: Greenpoint,” a new grassroots initiative to support long-term beautification efforts in the neighborhood. In addition to some light hands-on clean-up during the event, volunteers will be documenting and “diagnosing” the sources of litter problems in northeastern Greenpoint. At the end of the event, the group will have the opportunity to suggest solutions – for example, where new trash cans should be placed.
Meet up with fellow IIDA NY volunteers before continuing to the main volunteering location. Lunch will be served to volunteers at 1pm, hosted by the Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn. After lunch, IIDA NY volunteers will have a chance to further unwind and network at a local bar.

Participants should wear comfortable closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing that can get dirty. Sunscreen is also recommended.
