Jo Communications Appoints Mary Mullen as Vice President

Announcement signifies plans for expansion in 2023

Jo Communications (Jo) is pleased to announce Mary Mullen as Vice President (VP) of the organization. With 12+ years of experience spanning public relations, strategic branding, and content development – including a 7+ year tenure at the agency – Mullen will play an integral role in achieving growth as well as organizational and strategic success of the firm and its roster of nationally and internationally recognized design and architecture clients.

As a Florida native with strong connections in the Southeast, Mullen will be relocating to the Sunshine State in the new year, growing Jo’s presence in the region (current clientele includes Naples and Winter Park, Fla.) and working to identify and cultivate strategic partnerships in the design space. The move signals the firm’s plans for continued development and expansion in 2023. The agency currently has team members located in Chicago, Charleston and Houston.

“Mary’s well-honed insights, talents and strategic expertise have helped to elevate Jo’s presence as a leading communications firm in the A+D industry,” said Founder and CEO Mary Jo Fasan. “With this appointment, the firm has entered a new phase – one that is looking to build a broader, deeper voice that underscores the importance of design. Mary is the perfect person to help lead us in this new and exciting next chapter.”

In collaboration with Fasan, Mullen will heavily focus on building and evolving Jo’s services and capabilities, acting to positively reinforce its identity and industry presence, grow reach, and protect the firm’s stellar brand reputation. Mullen’s work is informed by her strategic and big-picture thinking — she will act as Jo’s in-house expert on overarching brand strategy and communications (including storytelling, brand positioning and messaging, public relations, and content creation).

“I’m seriously passionate about claiming Jo’s rightful place as the leading communications authority for the design industry,” said Mullen. “The team we’ve built here is stronger and more talented than ever before, and I can say the same for our roster of clients. The ‘what’s next’ for us is all about growth and exploration for us, which is really exciting to me both personally and professionally.”
