Jim Souza Joins IA Interior Architects as Director, Restaurant Practice

The executive leadership of IA Interior Architects is pleased to announce that Jim Souza has joined the firm as Director, Restaurant Practice. Jim is a seasoned project manager and team leader with over 30 years of experience within the restaurant and hospitality industries. In his role at IA, Jim will lead our restaurant practice from our Boston office and collaborate firm wide, connecting with our design and architecture professionals as we expand our restaurant focus globally.

Formerly a partner at Morris Nathanson Design, Jim has extensive experience working with brands such as BB King’s, Disney, PJ Clarke’s, and Royal Caribbean, among many others. This will expand upon IA’s existing body of work for restaurant clients such as Yo Sushi and Pressed Café, as well as hospitality work for United Club, Virgin, and American Airlines. In addition to his extensive work in the restaurant and retail industry, Jim has also collaborated on hospitality projects such as resorts and hotels, as well as museums and various cultural institutions.

“I am excited to bring an increased focus of hospitality and restaurant design to this most talented firm. With the ever changing restaurant market, I believe it is critical to have a more holistic view of restaurant design. IA, with their reputation for innovation and design excellence, very clearly brings this to the table as well as a personal, hands-on approach to its client relationships. I perceive this approach to be an important aspect of IA and why I look forward to making strides in the restaurant design market here with this outstanding team,” states Jim.

“We are so thrilled to bring Jim on board. His experience complements our workplace practice by introducing a high level of expertise to the table. It is this expertise which will help our burgeoning restaurant practice flourish,” says Reetika Vijay, Managing Director of IA’s Boston office.

“Adding Jim to the firm is an important step for us. We look forward to this new phase in IA’s practice and can’t wait to see what Jim develops for us,” says David Bourke, IA’s Co-CEO/President.
