Jeff Rezin Wins Wallcovering Industry’s Highest Honor

Jeff Rezin

The Wallcoverings Association (WA) on Jan. 30 presented the Allman Award, its highest honor, to Jeff Rezin, president of Rezin Inc., an environmental and safety consulting firm. Rezin received the award at the WA’s Annual Meeting in Clearwater, FL. The industry’s most prestigious award is named for the WA’s founder and is presented each year to a leader who has made a long-lasting, positive contribution to the wallcovering industry.

Rezin has championed sustainability issues in the wallcoverings industry for 12 years, working closely with WA leadership and member companies to enhance the industry’s environmental footprint.  Rezin is a long-time member of the WA technical committee and took a lead role in the development of the NSF/ANSI 342 Sustainability Standard for Wallcovering.  This multi-attribute standard is the first to certify both the manufacturer and distributor.  Rezin advises the wallcoverings industry on the range of sustainability issues and represents the WA on technical collaborations with other industry groups. In addition, Rezin has been active in the Chemical Fabrics & Film Association and chaired its technical committee for 15 years.

A LEED AP, Rezin brings 32 years of sustainability insight and experience to his WA activities.  Before starting his consulting company in 2001, Rezin worked as Director of Environmental Health and Safety Affairs for three major manufacturing companies.  His practice counsels clients on a wide scope of practices including environmental management systems, recycling and employee training.  Among his many awards are two Virginia Governor’s Environmental Excellence Awards and the Pennsylvania Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence.

“The wallcovering industry is fortunate to have leaders like Jeff Rezin, who work tirelessly on critical technical and environmental work,” said Sean Samet, WA Executive Director.  “His efforts have elevated the industry’s commitment to sustainability and helped enhance our overall sustainability profile. He has built a lasting legacy that will guide the organization for years to come.”

“I am deeply touched by this great honor,” Rezin said.  “Over the years, we have worked to create a clear understanding of the industry’s short-term and long-term sustainability goals, to focus industry-wide attention on these and motivate stakeholders to success.  I am proud of the work we have done to address industry concerns and bring transparency and accountability to the sustainability process.”
