Jamie Stern Furniture, Carpet & Leather Launches 2nd Annual Rug Design Contest for Interior Designers and Architects
Jamie Stern Furniture, Carpet & Leather is excited to announce their 2nd Annual Rug Design Contest. Beginning on April 23rd, Jamie Stern is calling on all interior designers to submit an original design that demonstrates their personality, creativity and unique style for the chance to win a custom rug!
Last year, the firm implemented the first Jamie Stern Rug Design Contest while adjusting to quarantine life and working from home. What began as an attempt to maintain some semblance of normalcy and build relationships with their partners in the interior design community resulted in an incredibly fun and engaging experience. They received over 150 entries and realized they were not alone in this positive assessment. “It only felt right to turn this impromptu contest into an annual event!” said President & CEO Jamie Stern.
This year, four Grand Prize Winners will be selected by an all-new panel of esteemed judges and have their designs turned into beautiful 5×7 wool rugs. The judges, all of whom are interior designers themselves, include: Deborah Lloyd Forrest, the founder and Principal of ForrestPerkins, Tina Lai, a Senior Interior Designer for the Stanford Hotels Corporation and Deborah Verderame, the founder and Principal of Verderame | Cale architecture pllc.
In addition, eight runners-up will be selected and receive a 3×5 mini-rug of their work. The rug designs can be done in any medium: InDesign, sketched with a pen or pencil or even colored with a crayon.
