Introducing Mix + Match: A New Collection by Luum Textiles Creative Director Dorothy Cosonas

Cosonas’ latest collection pairs six distinct textiles engineered to work in harmony, giving designers a comprehensive “Mix + Match” toolkit for building performance-driven commercial interiors

Luum Textiles, marking 10 years of crafting award-winning, sustainably made collections, has officially launched Mix + Match, the newest collection by Creative Director Dorothy Cosonas. Mix + Match is a collection of six distinct but harmonious textiles crafted for timeless appeal and function. Striving to look beyond the familiar, Cosonas designed and developed fundamental textile elements—a stripe, a plaid, a texture, and heathered solids— for a comprehensive interior solution. Individually, each material stands elegantly on its own. Combined, the collection offers attractive and useful materials that work seamlessly together.

Through careful attention to detail, Mix + Match delivers fresh, forward-looking twists on patterns, thoughtful textures, and dynamic color palettes, highlighting Luum’s ongoing commitment to good, meaningful, and sustainable design.

The Collection Includes:

Lashes Out: Lashes Out is a dimensional twist on a simple stripe with a modern look and tactile qualities. Inspired by feathers and fringe found in nature and fashion, this distinctive upholstery fabric brings a fresh element to any design scheme. Woven and crafted using a specialty fil coupé technique, yarns are selectively clipped, leaving behind soft, raised, fringed edges that give the fabric its signature feathery texture. Designed to be railroaded, the color of the ground sets the backdrop for carefully spaced horizontal stripes, each a blend of one constant color and two complementary shades. Woven with recycled cotton and polyester, these manufacturing techniques and material components result in an uncommon and distinctive textile available in 8 inviting colorways appropriate for a wide variety of settings.Sequence: Sequence is a small-scale, structured, yet organic pattern for upholstery with a handsome, spirited character. The pattern’s raised surface is created using a single tri-color, high-twist novelty yarn that contrasts with a complementary solid ground in the warp. This combination creates a complex yet playful study of color values, where the motif rests on the surface, reading as an all-over texture and creating visual interest on furniture. In addition to its range of 10 colorways, from saturated crimson to violet blue, and complex neutrals, Sequence is manufactured in North America and is bleach-cleanable.

Replay: Replay is a patterned, nonwoven polyurethane textile that blends strength with sustainability. Taking its cue from architectural grid layouts, Replay’s structured, yet varied linework reads as a vibrant plaid created by printing a thoughtful, intentional intersection of 5 colors. Highly upholsterable with a soft, pliable hand, this textile is comprised of an eco-friendly, corn-based bio-attributed polyurethane and a silicone top layer. An additional textured emboss completes its quiet, sophisticated style. Replay is PFAS-free, PVC- and phthalate-free, and free from FR and antimicrobial additives. In addition, it is bleach-cleanable and can be disinfected with hospital-grade cleaners. Available in 10 colorways, inherently ink- and stain-resistant, and highly durable, Replay is a responsible choice for performance-driven applications.

Hive: Environmental at its core, Hive is made from 100% post-consumer recycled cotton and polyester. The interaction between the warp and weft creates a clean, balanced weave structure and allows for greater color clarity when applied to furniture. Featuring enhanced durability of up to 100,000 double rubs and a Nanotex® PFAS-free stain repellent, Hive’s 12 versatile colorways and dry hand complete this compelling yet understated offering. Hive is made in North America.

Zippy: Zippy is a sustainable, multipurpose textile for upholstery, wrapped wall, and panel applications. Its textured surface and dry hand evoke the rich and tactile sophistication of wool, offering a luxurious aesthetic at an approachable price point. Engineered for durability and acoustic transparency, Zippy is bleach-cleanable, made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester, and available in 22 clean, clear, and upbeat colors.

Tint: Tint’s refined, organic surface transforms upholstery, wall, and panel applications through its tactile intimacy. A two-color, tonal cross-hatch effect sweeps across the surface, and a specialized brushing process yields a supple, flannel-like hand that invites touch. Beneath this refined aesthetic lies remarkable resilience: a Nanotex® PFAS-free stain repellent, bleach cleanability, and durability up to 100,000 double rubs. Tint is offered in a curated range of 20 usable, welcoming shades.

“There is a unique rhythm to the Mix + Match collection. Every fabric has its own distinct personality, yet when you place them side-by-side, they speak the same language. What’s more, each has a strong performance story, giving options that feel sophisticated to the touch, yet can withstand the most demanding commercial environments. Our approach to design empowers designers to orchestrate spaces that are layered, intentional, and effortless,” says Cosonas.
