Introducing Coalesse Pattern Program

Biophilia is a recurring theme in the workplace – and one that is driving positive connection between the office and nature. The Coalesse Design Group developed a series of nine textural surface patterns adapted from earth, sea, sky and water to create the Coalesse Pattern Program as an invitation for designers to participate in the creative aspect of their products.

Coalesse Pattern enriches the choices of interior designers through a series of textural surface patterns – inspired by nature – which can easily be personalized for glass top tables such as Potrero415 and SW_1 as well as the LessThanFive Chair. The online customizer tool makes it easy to:

  • Scale each pattern between 50% – 200% for micro and macro effects
  • Select a foreground AND background color for glass top tables
  • Select different scales/colors for each section (seat, inner back, outer back, legs) of the LessThanFive Chair

The desire for these biophilic patterns was to create elements that would aid the rejuvenation and stress reduction that are crucial to people’s positive connection to their workplaces. In order to do so, the Coalesse Design Group looked toward nature; Coalesse Pattern options were inspired by images like a reflection of water, dappled light, wood, sand and flocking birds, which were then manipulated over and over again through a meticulous design process of iteration and reduction to reach simplified, pure, repeatable motifs that have the spirit of nature in them. The resulting patterns are therefore not direct portrayals of landscape, flora or fauna, but rather interesting abstractions.
