Interstyle Tile is launching two new products this fall.
This year their design team worked to hone their color palette and commit themselves to finding more sustainable solutions for the tile world. Through those efforts, they’re now offering Basho, a geometric patterned glass that highlights dynamic movement in materials and Earthenglass, a new textured, matte tile made of 100% recycled glass + ceramic + porcelain.
Press releases for both product launches below:

POETRY IN COLOR + GLASS
Bold colors, dynamic lines, and harmonious balance inspired by Japanese haiku master
Interstyle, artisan-maker of architectural glass and ceramics, is excited to announce their new summer product launch: BASHO. Basho is a geometric Glass Tile concept that is simple yet captivating – a composition of mixed surface finishes to render calm. Each 4”x 8” tile is divided by a diagonal that balances 2 sides: glossy + matte. With 6 tone-on-tone colors, 4 contrasting colors, and left + right angled compositions, designers can mix and match options to form dynamic patterns out of triangles, diamonds, and chevrons.
Basho, born Matsuo Kinsaku, was a 17th-century Japanese haiku master from the Edo period. He was recognized for his works in haikai no renga, where collaborating poets took turns writing alternating verses of 17 syllables. While the form was popular for its wit, Basho aspired to reflect his real emotions in his poetry. He invented the term haiku to refer to the 5-7-5 form he considered the most desirable, typically evoking imagery from the natural world.
Interstyle’s Basho tile channels the energy of this Japanese haiku master with its bold colors, dynamic lines, and harmonious balance. The inspiring story developed at Interstyle’s ColorLAB evokes thoughts of modern artistry and a zen lifestyle.
