Our dear friend and colleague, Solveig Ek passed away last week after a short illness. We came to know and respect Solveig while working with her in her position as director of marketing and public relations for the ICF Group and Unika Vaev. She was full of fun and always added color to our day.
Solveig immigrated to the U.S. from Sweden with her husband Gunnar In the 1990’s, beginning her career at the ICF Group in 1998.
She loved the outdoors and could be found hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire or swimming in the ocean near her home at Kittery Point on the coast of Maine. She will be remembered as a vital and fierce woman who embraced all that life had to offer. Solveig is survived by her husband Gunnar and their two children, Josephine and Alexander.
She began her career with The ICF Group in 1998, working with Dan Fogelson. Solveig rose to the position of director of marketing and public relations, and retired from ICF in 2021. She was well known by many in our industry and led the brand-building and marketing functions at ICF and Unika Vaev through many changes as the industry progressed from traditional forms of PR and marketing to its present state.
